Google’s iron grip on Android: controlling open source by any means necessary

In August 2010, Google launched Voice Actions. With it, the company introduced “Google Search” into the (then) Android Market. These were the days of Froyo. The above picture shows the latest version of AOSP Search and Google Search running on Android 4.3.
